Angle Finder / Angle Meter Workflow

If you want repeatable results, focus on baseline + alignment first. This workflow works for photos and diagrams.

What this workflow does

It turns “drag until it looks right” into a repeatable process: align the image, lock a baseline, then read the other side with snap or fine rotation.

Steps

  1. 1
Align the image to a reference edge
Use rotation/flip and the grid to make one edge horizontal/vertical if possible.
  2. 2
    Set a baseline
Use a guide line as a baseline direction when the image doesn’t have a clear edge.
  3. 3
    Choose 180° or 360° mode
Use 360° for reflex angles (>180°) and keep the baseline direction consistent.
  4. 4
    Use snap for clean readings
Try common angles first. Switch to step snap (1°/5°/10°) or turn snap off for fine adjustment.

Tips that save time

  • Zoom in when placing the vertex and baseline—small offsets matter.
  • Use guides when measuring multiple edges so your reference stays stable.
  • If snap feels wrong, confirm whether you are in common vs step mode.
